Leeds MS Society Research & Wellbeing Event
Sharifa attended the MS Society Research and Wellbeing event in Leeds on October 6th, which was organised by the MS Society Leeds and District Group.
The event brought together people living with MS, their families and carers and researchers. The event was attended by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, who delivered a welcome speech. During the event, Sharifa delivered a presentation to share the findings from our Participatory study with the audience. She reflected that the event was a great opportunity to speak directly to people about research, to hear their perspectives on the finding, and to discuss participation in research studies currently recruiting in the CPN.
She was joined by peer researcher Saf Hussain, who spoke about his journey of being involved in the project as a peer researcher, describing it as empowering. Saf also reflected on his involvement in the study and on the value of research being led with people.
