Talking to medical students about MS
Peer researchers, Francine Parker and Karen Chong, were invited to be guest speakers at an event for first- and second-year medical students at the University of East London, Stratford on November 24th. The session was designed to give students an opportunity to hear directly from people living with MS in order to help them build a deeper understanding of the lived realities behind the condition. They spoke alongside Claire Winchester, Head of Information and Engagement from the MS Trust.
Francine and Karen shared their personal experiences of diagnosis, navigating healthcare, and managing everyday life with MS. They also reflected on their roles as peer researchers in the MS Peer Research Study highlighting how lived experience can meaningfully shape research and improve its relevance.
