Most importantly, this event provides these people who have been historically under-represented in research with many opportunities to take part in current studies Sharifa provided an overview of the research study and shared some updates on its progress. She explained to them that the study is about engaging and tapping into the lived experiences of people with MS from South Asian and Black British ethnic backgrounds in the research process. The audience were excited to meet one of our peer researchers, Karen Chong, who also attended the event and talked about her experience as a peer researcher in our team.
